Mejuri Thin Croissant Dome Ring Review

From left to right: Revival Stacking Ring by bluboho, Thin Croissant Dome Ring by Mejuri

I had seen Mejuri's jewelry all over Instagram and became enamoured by their cute designs. Wanting to support a Canadian brand, I took the plunge on the Thin Croissant Dome Ring in 14k solid gold. If you're curious about their products and are looking for a non-sponsored review, keep reading.

I previously purchased the Star Tarot Necklace (now discontinued) from Mejuri. While I love the design, I did find it fussy since you're supposed to minimize contact with water and sweat. I also wasn't able to see it unless I looked in the mirror, whereas you can look down and admire a ring on your finger at any time. That's why I ultimately decided to splurge on the 14k gold ring.\

The Ring Specs

Name: Mejuri Thin Croissant Dome Ring

Colour: Yellow Gold

Price: $425 CAD

Size: See sizing chart here. I advise going down one size from the recommended size. For reference, I measured my finger and matched with a size 7, but ended up getting mine in a size 6.

Materials: 14k solid gold

Weight: 3.0g

Design Rating: 8/10

Of all the various croissant and rope style rings out there, I liked Mejuri's design the best. The front of the ring is thicker (6.35mm), while the back of the ring was thinner (2.0mm), making the ring comfortable to wear.

One feature that is not apparent in the product photos is that the croissant part of the ring is hollow. I'm including a picture of it here to show how there's some hollow space between your finger and the ring.

Inside of the ring is hollow as shown.

This can be annoying when washing your hands since water droplets tend to get stuck in that area. I also find it leaves an indent on my finger.

Wear and Tear Rating: 9/10

I purchased this ring in November 2020 and haven't stopped wearing it since. Since it's 14k gold, I'll keep wearing it when I wash my hands, but I'll take it off to shower or wash dishes. It has accumulated some hairline scratches but they are not particularly noticeable unless you hold it up close.

I chose to invest in 14k solid gold because gold vermeil will eventually tarnish. I am already seeing very minor tarnishing spots on my gold vermeil necklace. In addition, a necklace is much easier to keep out of water than a ring, so I wanted a ring that was as fuss-free as possible.

Practicality Rating: 7/10

Since the ring is 14k gold, you don't really have to worry about sweat or water. The ring is light and comfortable to wear. However, I do find the water droplets getting stuck in the hollow ring part a little annoying.

Pricing and Where to Buy

Currently this retails for $425 CAD on the Mejuri website. I bought this ring during their only sale, which is typically in November. The discount is 10% off one item, 15% off two items, and 20% off three items or more. This was the only item I bought so I received a 10% discount, but I also went through Rakuten.ca and received 10% cash back as part of a one day flash promotion.

In terms of sizing, I would try this ring on in-store if you can. Otherwise, follow the sizing chart and order a couple of sizes to figure out which one you are. Mejuri has free returns so I wasn't too worried about getting the wrong size. Size 6 was perfect for my right index and middle finger, though I'm a Size 5 for the same fingers on my left hand. I do wish Mejuri rings came in half sizes because my other fingers are in between sizes.

Would I buy this ring again? Even with the minor inconvenience of the hollow space, I would still buy this ring again if I lost it because I love the design so much. Taking it off a couple of times of day is not a big deal for me.

Would I buy more rings from Mejuri? Yes I would, although it depends on the style and material. I'm not a fan of gold vermeil due to the water sensitivity, but the Charlotte Bold Ring is beautiful and the 14k version is just way too expensive. I really like the Wishbone Ring as well, which would make a great stacker ring. For dainty stacking rings, bluboho offers 14k options that aren't too far off from Mejuri's prices (even cheaper in some cases). I'm also eyeing some of Mejuri's 14k white gold offerings as they're one of the few places that does more affordable white gold jewelry.

Final Thoughts

I highly recommend the Mejuri Thin Croissant Dome Ring if you like the design and would prefer to invest in 14k solid gold. Just note that you might have to take it off sometimes to get the water droplets out, but it is indeed a very beautiful and comfortable gold jewelry option!
